A Bean is Born — Welcome Home!

Introducing…

A babe by any other name, wouldn’t be as sweet!!

That’s right folks we’ve finally chosen a name for our BabyBean, a.k.a. BellyBean, LadyBean, LittleBean… Well you get the picture… Our Bean has been born and we are so proud to make this official announcement!!

Weighing a glorious 9lbs & measuring 54cm (21.3inches) long!

After approximately 36 grueling hours of laborious uncertainty we had our girl via C-section at Mt. Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto.  The complete details of her birth will be forth coming in Alana’s birth story… that will take some time to write!!  Needless to say it was an emotional roller coaster that ended with us all safe and healthy and now HOME!!

We arrived home around 8pm on June 6th and now we are settling in and the real adventure begins!

 

So what’s her name you ask?!!


Well… When selecting a name many things were considered and we had a short list of 4 or 5 names that we really liked…  It was clear though when she was born (and maybe even slightly before that) that there was one and only name for her!!

 

Isabel Eden Sutherland


One of Alana’s middle names is Isabel after her Dad’s mom who passed away when he was just 8yrs old.  It also happens to be the middle name of Blair’s mom Ana!  The name is largely represented in both Blair & Alana’s family lines from Scotland & Ireland.  In fact Blair’s Dad’s favorite Aunt was named Isabel.  And to top that off months before her arrival Alana’s mom (Omie) also started calling her Bella — long before we even considered Isabel!!

 

So with all those “bells ringing” we were compelled to give this beautiful angel a name of honour in our family!

 

Eden we just loved as a middle name as it means DELIGHT — and we really are delighted to have her here safe & sound!!

 

We are keeping visits to a minimum right now but we welcome you to get in touch with us to make arrangements in the coming weeks as we are looking forward to introducing her to you!

Nicknames:

So the best part of a name is all the pet or nicknames that get created from it!

Our little girl is mere days old and already has a few… this list will surely grow 😉
